“Celebration of everyday life comes from items made with care and skill”
–Pasi Kärkkäinen-Tunkelo
Celebration of Everyday Life —
‘Juhla’ means ‘celebration’ in Finnish and the spirit of celebrating everyday life can be seen in this uplifiting design. Designer Pasi Kärkkäinen-Tunkelo has created confettis and balloon-like abstract patterns with strokes of different tools. Rather than focusing on perfection, the designer Kärkkäinen-Tunkelo is inspired by meaningful things and the fascinating end results when these are combined.
Pure wool —
The special feeling of Juhla is emphasized in its production method – Juhla is handtufted from pure wool. As a material wool is easy to take care of as it rejects dirt naturally. Every Finarte rug is a unique, hand-made item. Juhla rug is also available in your preferred custom size.

Subdued colorfulness —
The off-white, incredibly soft hand-tufted base has a beautiful matt gloss. Combined with the vivid abstract pattern, the rug has a joyful yet subdued colorfulness in it. The patterns are characteristic for the deisgner Pasi Kärkkäinen-Tunkelolle and his use of different tools as strokes of brushes.
High-quality artisan work —
The Juhla rug is hand-tufted by skilled artisans in India, where the Finarte rug collection has been crafted for over 25 years. Our aim is to combine the local weaving heritage and the Nordic design sensibility to create a shared view on beauty and sustainability.
