Tobevi is a hand-tufted wool rug designed by Ervin Latimer. Its forest green surface shimmers and shifts with light, as the wool yarn changes depth and tone depending on the viewer's angle – creating an ever-changing, luminous quality that rewards movement and attention.
The design combines loop pile and cut pile to create a rich, tactile surface: a textured loop pile center is framed by a cut pile border that runs around the entire rug, giving Tobevi its distinctive graphic structure. As Latimer describes it: "The beautifully glowing frame, reminiscent of velvet, gives the piece a luxurious, textile-forward quality" – a reflection of his background as a fashion designer, where the boundary between clothing and textile art has always been fluid.
