WEAVING JOY SINCE 1985

Finarte creates design textiles that bring joy and softness to life. Our products are designed in Finland and guided by the idea of unique designs that are long-lasting both in style and quality.

Our rugs are handcrafted from upcycled, recycled and natural materials in India, where our family business has been creating livelihood and employment opportunities for more than 35 years. Our production enables local people to make a living while maintaining their craftsmanship skills.

TRANSPARENCY AS A VALUE

Our design philosophy is guided by our values: authenticity, quality and transparency. For Finarte, transparency means being open and honest about who makes our products, where they are made and what materials they are made from.

LIFELONG PARTNERSHIPS

Finarte rugs have been manufactured in India since 1991. Our rug production affects more than 500 families, and we recognise that we have a role to play in their well-being. That is why we seek to support local communities in a variety of ways.

We sponsored a two-year training programme supported by the Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, teaching local weavers our specialised rug-weaving techniques. The weavers can pass on their skills within their communities, helping to preserve traditional craftsmanship and create opportunities for employment.

FROM RAGS TO RUGS

We believe in design that brings joy year after year. We have been weaving rugs from upcycled and recycled materials since 1985. In addition to upcycled and recycled cotton, we make rugs and textiles from wool, jute and tencel.

DESIGNING CIRCULARITY

The essence of Finarte is a combination of circular design combined with the tradition of carpet weaving. We have been weaving rugs from recycled materials since 1985, long before circular design became a widely used term.

All our cotton and cotton-blend rugs are handwoven in India using surplus materials from the local textile industry, like fabric offcuts. We also offer care and rental services that can help keep our products in use for longer.
