Vilpola has an interesting materials choices, jute and recycled leather that play perfect together. Jute warp gives the rug a rough yet down-to-earth look and feel, while recycled leather creates a soft and chunky texture. Together they make Vilpola a long-lasting rug to keep forever.
Recycled Materials —
At Finarte, we have always believed the best materials are already existing ones. That’s why we are open for new, exciting materials. Vilpola is made of recycled leather that would otherwise be destined for landfill or the burn pit. We gave that material a new life on the floors or modern homes.
Defining Sustainability —
Vilpola rug is hand-weaved by skilled artisans in India, where the Finarte rug collection has been crafted for over 25 years. Our aim is to combine the local weaving heritage and the Nordic design sensibility to create a shared view on beauty and sustainability.
