Description
“The world of designing woven fabrics is fascinating: on one hand, there are the limitations set by the technique, and on other, the freedom to create, accompanied by the tredition and history of woven textiles.”
– Mervi Pesonen
Made of Recycled Materials —
Mosaiikki rugs are woven from recycled cotton, which represents the use of ecological materials that is characteristic to Finarte. These rugs are fresh and contemporary interpretations of traditional Finnish rag rugs.
Design by Mervi Pesonen —
Mervi Pesonen has been designing rugs for Finarte since 1996. A skilled weaver herself, Mervi brings different traditional techniques together with modern design to create new, exciting textiles.

An Abundance of Colors —
Mosaiikki rug is part of Keidas (Oasis), Finarte’s new collection for fall 2019. The abundance of colours and textures in Keidas collection create an ensemble which let’s your mind travel to the hidden gardens of old courtyards. Keidas brings back the memories of afternoons spent in classic atriums, surrounded by vines and mosaic tiles.
High-Quality Artisan Work —
Mosaiikki rug is hand-knotted by skilled artisans in India, where the Finarte rug collection has been crafted for over 25 years. Our aim is to combine the local weaving heritage and the Nordic design sensibility to create a shared view on beauty and sustainability.
