Colorfulness, homely atmosphere and wonderful hand-woven rugs

Finarte Concept Store, a unique rug shop and interior store with Finnish design, has moved to new, spacious premises in the center of Helsinki on Fredrikinkatu, just a few blocks away from Kamppi. At our store, you get not only excellent and friendly customer care, but also answers for all your carpet related questions! Additionally, you can try our carpet fitting service or order custom-made carpets for your home – plus of course, find inspiring ideas!

When designing the new concept store, our goal was to create an inspiring and cosy space, where customers can daydream about how our carpets would look like in their own homes. As our rugs, we wanted also the interior of our new store to celebrate bold thinking, handicraft traditions and the joy of being who you are. The bold use of colours can be seen especially in the mural on the wall of Finarte’s office. The mural was made in accordance with the carpet model pattern designed by illustrator Minni Havas for Finarte Autumn 2020 collection. In addition to the mural, Finarte’s familiar warm, bright and cozy colours can be seen both in the accent paintings on the store walls as well as in partitions, familiar to those who visited us in the Habitare 2019 furniture fair.

The mural on the office wall is a replica of an upcoming carpet design by illustrator Minni Havas’s for Finarte autumn 2020 collection.The chairs in the office are vintage Artek and the solid rock table was found second hand.

The store was planned by Magee’s brand designer Roosa Karhu (a former Finarte team member) and designed and brought to life together with the Finarte team. The inspiration for the store follows the values of Finarte: self-expression with joyful colours, sustainable production, recycled materials and – of course, wonderful rugs. Recycling is one of the main pillars of Finarte and this can be seen also at the new Concept Store – every piece has a story to tell as all the furniture are secondhand or vintage.

Most of our furniture is secondhand or vintage but we are happy to get have some pieces  from Finnish furniture brands Hakola and Lundia at our store. You can also find our CEO Larissa’s cousin’s, talented artist Gabriella Le Blanc‘s artwork from our store’s walls.

In our store you can find all your favourite rugs; from the colourful and fruity wool carpet “Terttu” to Saana’s and Olli’s “Dyyni”, the popular recycled cotton rug, inspired by a sunny and sandy Summer beach. The concept store also features the wonderfully round and crispy, Summer-season jute rug Natur, as well as our classic, one-color wool rug Norm. The new Concept Store also has a dedicated area for Finarte Studio: a new concept of made-to-measure recycled cotton carpets, made in Estonia with a minimalist look.

We at Finarte believe that the time for concept stores is not over – far from it! By offering our customers a visual feast, individualized and excellent customer care plus our services of trying or renting carpets, we believe that our new home at Freda will cater to customers from near and far.
