Ruukku (Pot) rug is designed by ceramic and textile artist Marianne Huotari. The patterns of the Ruukku rug are drawings of the shapes of the pots – outlines and cross-sections straight from the pages of a sketchbook. The pink-peige-brown-blue Ruukku is made from luxurious thick wool by hand-tufting, with convenient cotton backing. Soft wool is naturally dirt repellent and is thus suitable for many different interiors and conditions. The base of the rug is made of cotton, which makes the rug sturdy.

Shipping & Returns

Shipping in Finland

When ordering a custom-made rug to Finland, you have two delivery options to choose from:

Sea Freight: When you choose sea freight, your custom-made rug will travel with our own sea shipment to Finland at no extra cost. Once the rug has arrived at our warehouse, we will forward it to you. With sea freight, the rug will reach you in approximately 6 months from the order date.

Air Freight: If you prefer a faster option, your rug can be shipped by air after production and will arrive in approximately 2 weeks. The cost of air freight will be shown at checkout when you select this delivery method.

Shipping in EU

For orders outside Finland but within the EU, we only offer air freight. Your custom-made rug will be shipped directly from our factory and delivered to you in approximately 2 weeks after production is completed. The cost of air freight will be shown at checkout when you select this delivery method.

Our rugs and accessories are handcrafted from recycled and natural materials in India, where our family business has been creating livelihood and employment opportunities for over 30 years. Through our production, local artisans earn a living while preserving their traditional craftsmanship skills.

Marianne Huotari is a Helsinki-based ceramic and textile artist celebrated for her ability to interpret Finnish traditions through a contemporary, sophisticated lens.
