Trace the thread – follow Finarte rugs journey

One of our most important values is authenticity, which equals quality and transparency. For Finarte, transparency means being open and honest about who makes Finarte’s products, where they are made and what material they are made of.

We believe that it is the responsibility of every company to provide information about its whole value-chain – as transparently as possible. To make it easier for you to trace the origin of our product – we’ve done it for you. Read more below.

Transparency starts with design

1. ORIGIN OF WOOL

The wool of Galleria rugs comes from sheep native to the Usak region of Turkey. Wool is collected from sheep using a shearing machine. All of our wool is mulesing-free certified and sheep are never hurt during the procedure. Sheep benefit from shearing, because at the same time they get rid of their heavy fur.

2. CARDING & YARN SPINNING

After shearing, the raw wool is carded. In carding, the wool fibres are combed parallel for spinning. During spinning, the fibres are stretched, and as a result, they straighten into durable wool yarn.

Production as lifelong partnership

We want to manufacture rugs where raw materials and recycled materials are produced. Indian production answers this need, as a large part of the global textile industry is located there. We value long-term cooperation, know-how and reliability, and that is why we only work with a few carefully selected producers.

We have been working with the same partners for decades: Indus Kleed since 1991 and Indian Art Gallery since 1999. Below you can find out more about Finarte’s partners in India (3) and China (1).
