We know rugs
Finarte has been weaving stories into rugs since 1985. With 40 years of dedicated experience, our family-run company holds deep-rooted expertise in rug making, from materials and techniques to cultural nuance and functional design. We combine this know-how with a forward-thinking approach, creating pieces that are made to last – both visually and physically.
Design that doesn’t blend in
Our rugs tell stories. They energise, ground, soften or surprise – shaped by space, context and culture. Designed in Finland, our collections reflect a bold and distinctive design vision, characterised by expressive colour, rich texture and artistic collaboration.
We work with exceptional Finnish designers from various fields, each bringing their unique perspective to the collection, always honouring precious handicraft traditions and techniques, thoughtfully carried into the present day.
You can choose from our curated designer collections or work with us on a bespoke level to create something truly one of a kind.
Responsibility woven in
For us, sustainability isn’t a slogan, it’s the foundation of how we work. Every Finarte rug is handmade in close collaboration with skilled artisans in India, using natural, recycled or responsibly sourced materials. We believe in craftsmanship, long-lasting quality, and fair partnerships that support both people and planet. From design sketch to final stitch, we honour craft, culture, and conscious choices. From ready-to-spec to fully bespoke
We offer flexible project solutions from quick access to our existing collections, to tailored rugs designed and made just for your space.
Choose the level that fits your project:
Curated collections – our current and past designs available in standard sizes and colourways
Custom colours – choose from our 16-colour curated palette to adapt existing designs
Bespoke rugs – co-create entirely new pieces based on your concept or interior vision
Tailored sizing – any rug can be produced in your required dimensions
Handmade, durable, adaptable
Our project rug collection is made entirely from wool, a natural, durable and versatile material. We offer two wool qualities tailored for different environments: our standard residential quality, and a more robust, hand-tufted contract-grade quality designed for hotels, offices and other high-traffic spaces. Both options are available for custom production in project-specific designs, sizes and colours. We offer a variety of finishes according to your project needs, including non-slip backing or anti-stain treatment for example.
All rugs are sustainably handcrafted in India and air-shipped with lead times of approximately 12–16 weeks.
A sample box will be available upon request starting in fall 2025.
Our process
From idea to installation – here’s how we work with you.
- Initial dialogue
We begin by understanding your project needs – space, concept, functionality and aesthetic goals. - Design & specifications
Choose from our collections, adjust colours, or start a bespoke concept. We’ll confirm dimensions, techniques and material details. - Sampling
For larger or fully custom projects, we can provide optional material or colour samples to ensure confidence before production. - Production
Each rug is handmade by our artisan partners in India. Production takes 10–14 weeks depending on scale and technique. - Delivery & follow-up
All rugs are carefully finished, quality-checked and air-shipped to you. We’re here to support even after delivery, whether it’s care advice or future projects.
