Tytti Laitakari

Tytti Laitakari is a Helsinki-based designer working across textiles, ceramics and patterns. Her visual language is defined by organic rhythm and delectable colour combinations, while hand-making and respect for material sit at the core of her design philosophy, the aim is always for the human hand to feel present and visible in every finished piece.

Her rug Pilkku was born at the loom, through playful experimentation with different structures. Inspired by pointillism, where dots of different colours blend visually into new tones, the result is a three-dimensional rug that plays with colour and texture and, thanks to its weaving technique, every rug is a unique piece in its own right. Pilkku received a special mention in Finarte's rag rug competition in 2025 and is now part of the 2026 collection.
