For larger living rooms where all furniture sits fully on the rug, a 200x300 cm rug is often the starting point, with extra large and custom sizes available for more expansive spaces.

How do you clean a large area rug?
The best approach to cleaning a large area rug depends on the material. For all large rugs, regular vacuuming is the most important step, removing surface dirt before it works its way deeper into the fibres. Rotate the rug every few months to ensure it wears evenly.
For spot cleaning, blot spills immediately with a clean cloth and avoid rubbing, which can spread the stain. A mild detergent diluted in cold water works well for most natural fibre rugs. Always test any cleaning solution on a small, hidden area first.

What size large rug do I need?
In a living room, the rug should be large enough to visually anchor the seating area. In a dining room, it should extend at least 50 cm beyond the table on all sides so that chairs remain on the rug even when pulled out. In a bedroom, a large rug placed under the lower two-thirds of the bed creates a soft and grounded feel on either side.
