Full of joy and exciting new things, 2017 was a very special year for us at Finarte. Let’s have a little throwback and take a look at the best 10 things that happened to us in 2017.
1 In 2017 we thought it was time to get new winds blowing and refresh our look a bit. With the help of talented Agency Leroy our new brand identity was born.
2 The new refreshed Finarte and our new collection were launched to public at Habitare fair in Helsinki and at Maison et Objet in Paris. Sisustustoimittajat (Association of Interiors Journalists) gave us “Best Stand” honorary mention at Habitare. This was such a great honor and we’re super proud of it. It was also a huge pleasure to see so many of you at the both of the fairs, thank you for visiting us.
3 The love for sustainable rugs and Nordic design spread around the globe. During year 2017 we gained over 40 new retailers in 12 different countries. You can find Finarte rugs now from Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Belgium, France, USA, Japan and Korea.
4 Marianne Huotari from STUDIO smoo designed the much-loved Suovilla Collection for us. The collection is inspired by a memory of a childhood’s berry-picking trip in the northern Finland. There’s a lovely story behind the collection: read it here.
5 The shared values of supporting handiwork while preserving traditions led Finarte and Mifuko to work together. Minna and Mari from Mifuko designed two rug styles for Finarte: kelim woolrugs Mombasa and Nakuru.
6 To celebrate the centennial independence day of our beloved home country Finland, we took a look back to our history and brought Kutomo Rasinmäki and Finarte again together. As result, the Heritage Collection saw daylight in December. Every rug of this collaboration is a unique piece of art.
7 We were amazed how often our rugs were seen on press. Our products were seen for example on the pages of Avotakka, Deko and Glorian Koti for several times. So cool!
8 We shared Shop + Showroom with our friends and interesting Finnish design brands Hakola and LumoKids at Telakkaranta in Helsinki. In November we had to give a farewell to the Shop + Showroom as the whole area of Telakkaranta went under construction.
9 We had an honour to participate in a few different festivals. We created Finarte Film Lounge for Superwood Festival, which was arranged for the first time in 2017. We also took part at PoriJazz, Flow Festival and WeJazz.
10 Our Finarte gang grew bigger as our content creator Roosa joined the team. And guess what? Larissa has now officially been a full one year the CEO of Finarte. We are so proud of our family company’s old history since 1985. Now let’s see what kind of adventures will the year 2018 bring!
